Restoration and Maintanence of Bamboo

Properly maintained, bamboo retains it's beauty.    But what if it's been ignored for a period of time? Like other natural products, left unattended, it will fade and gray over time.   Luckily, like wood, bamboo can be restored to its original luster.

To restore, simply follow these steps.

  • Wash the bamboo with water and a little soap
  • Rinse
  • Let Dry
  • Rub down with pain thinner
  • Let dry

Apply varnish or other wood-coating.  Non-water-based works best.   For water based varnishes, try a small section before continuing to the rest of the area.

Maintaining your bamboo properly not only keeps it luster, it also lengthens its life span by protecting it against rotting and insects.
