Bamboo is one of the most widely used, well loved plants there is.   For thousands of years, people have been using it for everything from construction to cooking.   It's versatility is astonishing. Besides being visually pleasing,  it's considered lucky in many cultures, the merits of this woody plant is virtually unlimited.

Bamboo is hard, harder than most woods and sometimes harder than steel, it is used in housing, furniture, food and also medicine.

Bamboo is eco-friendly.   It grows to full size within a year, and after three to four years (depending on the species) is mature enough for processing. Thus making it a highly sustainable plant product.

All our Bamboo comes from the beautiful bamboo regions of Zhejiang Province in China. Bamboo grown in these regions gets hardy as it matures with the advantage of winters as well as summers. 

All our Bamboo is grown,  harvested and treated without the use of pesticides or fertilizers. 

What's the difference between Green or Treated Bamboo?

Bamboo Expressions bamboo is dried and treated.  While green bamboo is beautiful and useful for specific functions ( such as cooking ), for most uses bamboo needs to be treated before further use. Drying removes the moisture from the bamboo and prevents against fungus.     It is also boiled to remove sugars that attract insects, and straightened.   Treated poles saves you the stress of having to go through these processes yourself and you can get started on your project right away.
